War of the Worlds filmed in South Wales

The second series of Fox TV’s War of the Worlds, a modern re-imagining of the HG Wells classic, has just completed filming in South Wales.

The first big-budget production to resume after lockdown, it’s been shot in a studio in Newport as well as out on location, under the watchful eye of Cardiff-born producer Adam Knopf.

Covid safety precautions have included temperature checks, distancing and everyone masked until the moment of a take. The show stars Gabriel Byrne (Usual Suspects), Elizabeth McGovern (Downton Abbey, Handmaid’s Tale), and Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People), and, of course, South Wales.
