Wales Airshow 2019 is a weekend not to be missed!

Wales Airshow will be returning to Swansea Bay on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July.

One of the largest free events in the UK and organised by Swansea Council, it will once again welcome the return of the magnificent Red Arrows as well as other exciting air displays, live stage entertainment, ground displays and trade stands.

The fun for 2019 will commence at 10am, with ground displays including RAF Police Military Working Dogs, Navy boat simulators a replica RAF Chinook, a selection of military vehicles, a wide selection of Army weapons, uniforms and personal equipment to try on as well as live stage entertainment and a children’s funfair.

Aircraft are scheduled to arrive overhead from 12pm on Saturday and 11.30am on Sunday, although it is recommended to arrive early for the best seats on the promenade!

The Red Arrows will once again headline the event on both days over the weekend and will be in great company over the course of the weekend, with the RAF Typhoon, ­­­­Joint Helicopter Command Chinook and Tucano taking to the skies. New for this year too will be the most widely used sea-plane during World War II, The Catalina and the world’s only aerobatic airline, the Blades.

Throughout the weekend, there will be multiple catering and trade stands retailing a wide variety of goods and produce.

2019 is the 50th anniversary of Swansea being awarded city status and as part of the celebrations, there will be a new ‘After-Dark’ evening display on Saturday 6 July. Starting at 8.30pm, there’ll be live music from bands performing hits from artists popular in 1969; a hot air balloon tethered display along Swansea beach, two display aircraft with pyro’s firing off their wings , followed by the Tigers parachute display team doing a night parachute jump. Culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over the bay.
