Visit Merthyr’s food festivals this June and July where lovers of great food are in for a real treat. The town is bringing two tasty festivals this summer to tantalise the taste buds.
First up is Merthyr Pop Up Chilli Fest, taking place on Saturday 23rd June in Penderyn Square in the heart of Merthyr Tydfil town centre. The festival features 15 to 20 chilli producers selling the very best chilli products from across the country as well as loads of food to eat, drink and taste.
The festival culminates in the Clash of the Titans chilli eating contest, an eye-watering event for the very bravest of chilli lovers.
Saturday 21st July sees the annual Merthyr Food Festival taking place across the town centre. With a fantastic range of more than 40 food producers, cooking stalls and local breweries, tasty cooking demos, live entertainment, children’s activities and lots more, this is a must for all lovers of good food and drink.
Parking in Merthyr Tydfil’s pay and display car parks is only £1 all day on Saturdays so visitors to both festivals can relax, tuck into some fabulous food and drink, enjoy the town’s shops and take some tasty treats home to enjoy at their leisure.
