Take up the Ty Hafan Welsh3peaks challenge

Join Tŷ Hafan on Saturday 15th June to take on the original GE Aviation Welsh3peaks challenge and tackle the mighty Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen-Y-Fan – all within 15 hours!

The GE Aviation Welsh3peaks challenge returns this June for its 21st year, challenging teams to take on the highest peaks in north, mid and south Wales, in what promises to be an exciting and unforgettable experience! If you and your friends or colleagues are looking for a new challenge why not gather a team of four walkers and a designated driver and be a part of this amazing adventure?

By stepping up to the challenge you and your team will join participants from across Wales and further a-field to walk a distance of 20.35 miles, making a total ascent of 9,397ft (2,864m). Tŷ Hafan’s Events Manager, Sali Thomas, said “you’re not only undertaking an exciting physical challenge, your fundraising will help to ensure that Tŷ Hafan can continue to provide comfort, care and support to children with life-limited conditions and their families across Wales”.

This year marks the 21st year of the Welsh3peaks challenge, started in 1998 led by a group of GE Aviation employees after they had completed the national Three Peaks event to help fund the building of Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice. Since that first event over £1.75million has been raised for Tŷ Hafan and over 6,000 people have completed the challenge. Every year there are dedicated, experienced and first aid trained marshals on each mountain ensuring that the event is the safest of its kind and this year teams will receive a special 21st year commemorative t-shirt and a fantastic locally sourced BBQ on completion!

So why not test your limits and conquer the Welsh3peaks for Tŷ Hafan?
