Showstoppers at Swansea Grand

There’s a packed line-up of shows coming to Swansea Grand Theatre this summer, you can expect magical adventures, rock and roll musicals and thrilling drama.

Rock ‘n’ roll the night away with classic hits from the 50s and 60s in the musical, Dreamboats and Petticoats, from 11 – 16 September. Party like it’s 1985 with The Wedding Singer, based on the hit film, featuring Ray Quinn and Ruth Madoc is from 19 – 23 September. If you like the music of Madness, you’ll love Our House from 3 to 7 October with Deena Payne and George Sampson.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award®-winning (Best Musical, Best Original Score & Best Book of a Musical) masterpiece, Sunset Boulevard, stars Swansea’s Ria Jones, who received standing ovations every night when performing the role at the London Coliseum, as Norma Desmond and Strictly Come Dancing’s Danny Mac as Joe Gillis. It runs from 16 – 21 October.

The family favourite, Joseph starring Joe McElderry, returns from 14 to 18 November.
Chills and thrills are to be had with the Drama Double Bill. Trespass, a ghost story, is from 8 to 12 August and Strictly Murder starring Brian Capron (Coronation Street) runs from 15 to 18 August.

Agatha Christie’s A Murder Is Announced is a Miss Marple mystery, starring Louise Jameson (Eastenders & Doctor Who) as Miss Marple and Janet Dibley (The Two Of Us & Doctors) as Letitia Blacklock. The residents of Chipping Cleghorn are astonished to read an advert in the local newspaper that a murder will take place this coming Friday at Little Paddocks, the home of Letitia Blacklock from 26 to Sat 30 September.

It’s never too early to book for pantomime and this year’s Aladdin has everything you could wish for in a panto and is from 15 Dec to 14 Jan.
