Marks & Spencer (M&S) is inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the Spirit of Summer at its show stand at The Royal Welsh Show from July 24th – 27th.
The bright and colourful stand will bring the very best of M&S to life by showcasing the retailer’s commitment to sustainable farming and local produce, as well as giving visitors the chance to enjoy the new Spirit of Summer range through recipe demonstrations by M&S and its suppliers. Revellers can also purchase a range of M&S product from its Food on the Move range, as well as enjoy a Coffee To Go – making the stand the perfect place to refuel!
Visitors at the stand will also have the opportunity to learn about Oakham Chicken, which is exclusive to M&S. As a retailer that is committed to the highest standards of animal welfare, the fresh Oakham and Free Range chickens sold by M&S are grown in the UK by farmers on specially selected and approved farms. This is in order to guarantee that all chickens are treated in a manner that ensure their health and welfare. They are also fed a diet that has been specifically developed to meet their nutritional needs. The team at M&S works closely with its suppliers and the FAI, a leading animal welfare research organisation, to develop farm standards and monitor animal welfare.
M&S’ Farming For The Future Awards will also be taking place to celebrate suppliers who are working towards important M&S Plan A commitments, such as becoming carbon neutral and sending no waste to landfill. Past winners at the show include Oli Pascall from Clock House Farm in Kent, who was the winner of the Young Producer award for his production of blackberries and raspberries, and Brecon based Richard Roderick, who won the Innovation award for his beef.
Steve Mclean, M&S Head of Agriculture & Fisheries, said: “We’re very excited to be back at the Royal Welsh Show and can’t wait to welcome visitors to the Spirit of Summer stand. For M&S, this year is a real celebration of innovative products that are produced in the UK for our customers to enjoy, and the extraordinary lengths taken to provide this fantastic food.
“There will be plenty of activities to keep visitors and children entertained, as well as the chance to taste some of the food and drink in our brand new Spirit of Summer range.”
This year M&S will once again be sponsoring a selection of the beef and sheep livestock classes, as well as the Royal Welsh Young Sheep Handler, the Junior Pig Handling Competition and the Cattle Young Handlers Competition amongst others.
