Cardiff’s only 5 star hotel, The St David’s Hotel, is delighted to announce the launch of a brand new Afternoon Mar-tea-ni which will offer guests the opportunity to indulge in a sophisticated cocktail with their afternoon tea.
The new menu will launch on the 6th of May, and swaps out the usual glass of bubbly for a choice of four delectable speciality chocolate martinis. For those who enjoy tried and tested taste combinations, the Chocolate Raspberry and Chocolate Orange martinis are sure to be a popular choice, while anyone looking for something a little more unusual can sample cocktails in Chocolate Mint or Chocolate Lavender flavours.
The martinis are served with St David’s Hotel’s Traditional Afternoon Tea menu, which offers a range of classic sandwiches and scones with jam and clotted cream, alongside a selection of seasonal sweet treats. Not wishing to take the ‘tea’ out of mar-tea-ni, guests who sit down to the new afternoon tea experience will also be able to choose from a range of high quality teas to enjoy as they sample the menu.
The introduction of the Afternoon Mar-tea-ni follows the appointment of new Pastry Chef Michael Coggan, who brings with him over 10 years of professional culinary experience and unique style and artistry. For those who love alfresco dining, The St David’s Hotel has also recently invested in new furniture for the restaurant terrace overlooking the Cardiff Bay waterfront.
Graeme Barclay, General Manager of The St David’s Hotel, said: “We’re delighted to finally have the opportunity to launch the Afternoon Mar-tea-ni. At The St David’s Hotel we’re always looking for innovative and forward-thinking ways to expand on our menus and we’re sure that this will be a popular choice for anyone who is looking to put an exciting twist on the traditional afternoon tea experience.”
The Afternoon Mar-tea-ni will be available from the 6th of May for £29.95pp. For further information and bookings, please call the Tempus at Tides restaurant on 02920 454045 or visit www.thestdavidshotel.com.
