Easter activities in and around Swansea

This year Easter Sunday is on April 21st but there’s plenty of family fun to be had in and around Swansea all month. Whether you want an action packed day out at Folly Farm or a fun Easter trail around National Waterfront Museum, we’ve tracked down the best things do over your Easter.

13th – 29th April
Giant Eater Duck Trail
WWT Wetland Centre, Llanelli

Go quackers this Easter and challenge your family to explore our wetlands to find giant yellow ducks hiding amongst reeds, trees and, of course, their real-life cousins.

You’ll follow special activity cards to find where these cheeky ducks are hiding and win a tasty prize. Learn all about the wetland wildlife we help look after and see if you can beat your family and friends to find all the yellow ducks!


13th April
Young Makers
Glynn Vivian Art Gallery

Young Makers is a fun, experimental workshop for those interested in pushing the boundaries of their art. The group will explore different art media including animation, sculpture, printmaking, illustration, drawing, painting and much more. For ages 12-16.

The Big Museum Easter Trail
National Waterfront Museum

What better activity for Easter than a fun, family Easter trail. Solve the clues and follow the trail around the Museum, then head back to the start to claim your egg-citing prize!

No advance booking needed for this event – pay at the desk on arrival, then collect your trails from the activity station. Suitability 4+

Pirate Fun Days
Folly Farm, Pembrokeshire

Fluellen Theatre Company presents it’s a very special pirate show written exclusively for Folly Farm. This pantomime style show will get you shouting “shiver me timbers” with plenty of audience participation and thigh-slapping fun!

21st April
Easter Bunny Hunt and Crafty Fun
Oystermouth Castle

Pop along to the Castle on Easter Sunday for an Easter Bunny word search hunt, followed by Easter crafts. Easter Bunny Hunt 11am-12pm – or until the prizes run out. Crafty Fun between 12pm-4.30pm.


22nd April
Jurassic Dinosaurs in the Park
Margam Park

Margam Country ParkTiny, the huge Triceratops and Dexter, the cheeky, feathered T-Rex are here to help the fabulous Dr Fossil, along with some of the mischievous Dino Babies! Help adorable Emily Brontosaurus find the lost egg. Meet ‘Spence’ the Spinosaurus and ‘Richie’ the Raptor. See the giant Dinosaur EGG – an egg-stra special experience – climb inside and feel what it is like to hatch out of a massive dino egg!


23rd – 26th April
Archaeologist’s Training Camp
The Egypt Centre, Swansea University

Keep the little ones busy this Easter with a fun and informative one day workshop, suitable for ages 6 to 10. They’ll go behind the scenes at The Egypt Centre to learn the basics of archaeology with lots of interactive activities and crafts based on fascinating Egyptian topics.


27th April
Knight School
Oystermouth Castle

Step back in time at Oystermouth Castle and join re-enactment group Gwerin y Gŵyr (People of Gower) for some demonstrations of what life might have been like in mediaeval times at Oystermouth Castle.

Ever wondered what it would have been like to be a knight of the realm? Have a go at trying on different armoury, learning line commands and find out all about weaponry and defence of the age.

The Heritage Metal Detectors Club will also be joining the line-up, showcasing recovered archaeological finds from around the region.
