Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 comes to Cardiff

Music icon and country star Dolly Parton’s hilarious West End show comes to Cardiff this Autumn to show us how to team up, stand up and take care of business. 9 to 5 the Musical is at Wales Millennium Centre from 29th October until 2nd November.

The rip-roaring musical is based on the 1980s cult film with music by the queen of country herself, the one and only Dolly Parton. 9 to 5 the Musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy – three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss. Concocting a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor, will the women manage to reform their office – or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit?

The producers have announced that Caroline Sheen will star as Violet Newstead and Amber Davies will star as Judy Bernly when the smash hit musical plays at Wales Millennium Centre.

Caroline Sheen, Natalie McQueen and Amber Davies

Caroline Sheen played the role of Violet Newstead to rave reviews when this production first opened at the Savoy Theatre in February. She is renowned for her leading roles in the West End, US and on tour throughout the UK. These include the West End productions of “Les Misérables” at the Palace and Queen’s theatres and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” at the London Palladium. Sheen was most recently seen as ‘Carys’ in the new BBC series ‘Pitching In.’

Amber Davies is currently playing the role of Judy Bernly in the West End production of the show. She graduated in 2016 with a Diploma in Musical Theatre from the Urdang Academy.

Her credits whilst training include “Bring It On”, “My Favourite Year” and “Memphis”. In 2017 Amber was the winner of the hit ITV reality series “Love Island”.

Packed with feel-good laughs and inspirational songs, 9 to 5 The Musical at Wales Millennium Centre is a must-see this autumn. Dolly Parton, we salute you.
