Dinosaurs, Dreamboys and Blood Brothers at Swansea Grand Theatre

Here’s a real mix of must-see shows for the whole family (and a few just for the adults) this summer and beyond at Swansea Grand Theatre.

A brand new dino-mite adventure thunders into South Wales, with marvellous puppetry on a jaw-dropping scale, Dinosaur World Live (9th – 11th July) dares you to experience the dangers and delights of prehistoric times in this interactive new show for all of the family.

Speaking of adventures, Peppa Pig and friends are back in the brand new live show Peppa Pig’s Adventure! (22nd & 23rd September). Peppa’s off on a camping trip to the woods with George and her school friends, with lunch-boxes packed and Daddy Pig driving the bus, but hopefully the only dinosaurs in this show will belong to George!

Summer also brings some great shows for grownups The Classic Thriller Company present a gripping whodunit from “the king of the detective thriller” Edgar Wallace – The Case of the Frightened Lady (2nd – 7th July). The smash-hit musical comedy Hairspray comes to Swansea for the very first time (24th – 28th July) starring Brenda Edwards (X Factor, Chicago) and perhaps most excitingly of all, the highly anticipated Blood Brothers returns to South Wales! (25th – 29th September).

If all of that isn’t enough, it’s strictly adults only for The Dreamboys (23rd August) who bring the party with the perfect girls’ night out! A jaw-dropping action packed show full of music and muscle.

Beyond the summer season, the Bafta Award Winning Jeff Pope’s Cilla – The Musical (6th – 10th November) is a spectacular and heart-warming musical adaptation of the critically acclaimed ITV mini-series based on the early life of Cilla Black. Starring the brilliant Kara Lily Hayworth, the story follows the extraordinary life of the ordinary teenage girl from Liverpool, Priscilla White, and her rocky, yet incredible, rise to fame. It is not be missed!

Executive Producer and Cilla’s son, Robert Willis, said of Kara: ‘I knew she was the one my mum would have wanted!’
